Desert REALTORS® Name Tom Ogle
2005 REALTOR® of the Year

PALM DESERT (Calif.) — Tom Ogle, a manager with Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Indian Wells and long-time member of the California Desert Association of REALTORS®, was named 2005 REALTOR® of the Year of the 4,000-member trade organization.
Pat Fredericks, outgoing president of the association, presented Ogle with the honor Dec. 2 at the 2006 Installation Reception at The Parker Palm Springs before a ballroom full of Realtors and industry executives.
Ogle, a member of the California Desert Association of REALTORS® since 1988, said it was a “huge surprise” to be selected as Realtor of the Year from among more than 4,000 members.
Ogle has been an active in board activities, primarily on the Grievance and Professional Standards Committees, which oversee complaints about real estate agents by the public or other agents.
He said the REALTOR® of the Year award is often given to someone for years of service and not for just one year. “I very much like to be involved with the board’s activities at the director level. It’s a way of giving back to an industry that has done so much for me,” said Ogle, 48, who resides in Palm Desert with his two pug dogs. Ogle manages 50 agents in Coldwell Banker’s Indian Wells office.
The REALTOR® of the Year is selected by a committee of previous recipients on the basis of “demonstrating exemplary service to the association and its members,” according to Greg Berkemer, executive vice president of the California Desert Association of REALTORS®.
Ogle said he has enjoyed all aspects of his real estate career, especially selling celebrity properties. “I was most proud as the buyer’s representative of the Canadian businessman who purchased the late Frank Sinatra’s estate compound in Rancho Mirage.
The California Desert Association of REALTORS®, The Voice for Real Estate® for the Coachella Valley, represents more than 4,000 REALTORS® and real estate professionals from Palm Springs to Coachella.
