California Desert Association of REALTORS® Reach Out to Coachella Valley Homeless; Armed Services

PALM DESERT (Calif.) — In the spirit of Christmas and the holidays, the California Desert Association of REALTORS® has donated $3,000 to Coachella Valley organizations helping the homeless and another $2,000 to allow service men and women to make free telephone calls to loved ones.
The California Desert Association of REALTORS® board of directors contributed $1,000 to The Well in the Desert in Palm Springs, $1,000 to Martha’s Kitchen and Village in Indio and $1,000 to the Coachella Valley Rescue Mission in Indio.
The Well in the Desert feeds about 1,700 people weekly. Martha’s Kitchen and Village is a comprehensive center to help the homeless with health care, counseling and job training. The Coachella Valley Rescue Mission provides food, clothing, shelter and referrals to needy or homeless clients. The homeless shelter program provides services to families/women with children, single women and men.
A $2,000 contribution was made to Operation Uplink, sponsored by the Veterans of Foreign Wars, which provides free telephone “credit cards” to men and women in the armed forces over seas to call home to their families and loved ones.

California Desert Association of REALTORS® annually selects non-profit organizations this time year in order to make monetary contributions. The California Desert Association of REALTORS® routinely donates to community organizations throughout the year, including contributing scholarships to local high school seniors headed for colleges or universities.
