California Desert REALTORS® Honor
Desiree Otero As 2006 President
PALM DESERT (Calif.) — Desiree Otero, a REALTOR® with Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Palm Springs, has officially taken over the reigns as president of the California Desert Association of REALTORS® for 2006.
Otero was officially installed Dec. 2 at the 2006 Installation Reception at The Parker Palm Springs before a ballroom full of Realtors and industry executives.

Other new board officers for 2006 are: Emily DiSimone, Prudential California Realty, president-elect and Gary Howell, Coldwell Banker, treasurer.
New directors for 2006 are: Sue McCollum, Desert Estates Realty; Jim Schwietz, Windermere Real Estate; Bernice Westberg, Windermere Real Estate; and John Young, Prudential California Realty.
Returning directors are: Susan London, First Team Becker & Becker; Sam Marcus, Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage; Conrad Mariscal, Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage; Tom Ogle, Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage and Realtor of the Year, Pat Fredericks, immediate past president, First Team Becker & Becker.
As the new president, Otero said she wants the California Desert Association of REALTORS® to work with developers and lenders and others in the real estate industry to work on affordable housing solutions.
“I will work to bring a greater awareness to all Realtors on how we can bring more affordable housing to the valley,” she said. “It’s a huge problem we have to address. There are lots of people in the desert who need affordable homes.”
Otero, a real estate professional for 18 years and a certified Graduate REALTOR® Institute, has been with Coldwell Banker in Palm Springs for three years and a Coachella Valley resident for 10 years.
She has been a member of the California Desert Association of REALTORS® for four years and a state director to the California Association of REALTORS® for three years. She and her husband Edward reside in Palm Springs.
