Kathleen Buys, a member of the CDAR Scholarship Committee and chair of the Community Service committee, said proceeds from the cake auction will benefit the scholarships for local high school seniors.
The California Desert Association REALTORS® contributed $1,000 each to 16 high school seniors in 2006. Scholarships for 2007 high school students will be awarded in April. CDAR holds other events to raise scholarship funds.
"What a great success,'' Buys said of the recent event. "After missing the auction for a number of years we brought it back and with the great support of our offices and affiliates were able to raise $4,300 - which is not bad for 90 minutes of work. This is all for such a good cause - scholarship is my passion."
